Inspired by Akuaba (Ghana) dolls mixed with the subtle and colorful features of Kokeshi dolls (Japan). Beyond aesthetic similarities, Akuaba and Kokeshi share common values such as femininity, inter-generation transmission and emotional support. Then came the desire to give these dolls their original vocation, to accompany girls and women in their daily lives, help them to flourish, to inspire them. For this, we have equipped our dolls with five personalities before naming them Aku • Ako. Aku • Ako is a family of quintuplets with strong, positive personalities who encourage women to be bold and reinvent themselves.
